Ruskin Bond is one of India's most beloved writers. He was born in 1934 AD in Kasauli. He did his education in a school in Shimla. He wrote his first story in 1951 which was Untouchability. He wrote his first novel "The Room on the Roof" when he was 17 years old.
He wrote many novels and stories for children. They have some famous works - blue Umbrella, A flight of Pigeons and funny sides up. He was awarded Padma Shri in 1999 and Padma Bhushan in 2014. Ruskin Bond is the founder of English literature for children. He received Sahitya Akademi Award Award in 1992.
