ਭਾਰਤ ਦੀ ਆਜ਼ਾਦੀ ਦੇ ਸੰਘਰਸ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਰਦਾਰ ਭਗਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਦਾ ਮਹੱਤਵਪੂਰਣ ਯੋਗਦਾਨ ਹੈ । ਭਗਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਦਾ ਜਨਮ 1907 ਵਿੱਚ ਚੱਕ ਨੰਬਰ ਪੰਜ ਜਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਲਾਇਲਪੁਰ ਪਾਕਿਸਤਾਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੋਇਆ । ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਜੱਦੀ ਪਿੰਡ ਖਟਕੜ ਕਲਾਂ , ਜੋ ਇਸ ਵੇਲੇ ਨਵਾਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਜਿਲ੍ਹੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਥਿਤ ਹੈ। ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਕਿਸ਼ਨ ਸਿੰਘ ਅਤੇ ਮਾਤਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਵਿੱਦਿਆਵਤੀ ਸੀ । ਭਗਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਦੇ ਚਾਚਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਅਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਸੀ, ਜੋ ' ਪਗੜੀ ਸੰਭਾਲ ਜੱਟਾ ' ਲਹਿਰ ਦੇ ਨੇਤਾ ਸਨ।
ਭਗਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਮੁੱਢਲੀ ਵਿੱਦਿਆ ਪਿੰਡ ਦੇ ਸਕੂਲ ਤੋਂ ਹੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕੀਤੀ ਦਸਵੀਂ ਤੱਕ ਦੀ ਪੜਾਈ ਡੀ ਏ ਵੀ ਸਕੂਲ ਲਾਹੌਰ ਤੋਂ ਕਰਨ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਉਚੇਰੀ ਵਿੱਦਿਆ ਲਈ ਉਹ ਨੈਸ਼ਨਲ ਕਾਲਜ ਲਾਹੌਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਦਾਖਲ ਹੋ ਗਏ। ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਪੜਾਈ ਅੱਧ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੀ ਛੱਡ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਦੇਸ਼ ਸੇਵਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਜੁਟ ਗਏ।
ਨੈਸ਼ਨਲ ਕਾਲਜ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੜਦੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਹੀ ਭਗਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੂੰ ਅਸਲੀ ਦੇਸ਼ ਭਗਤੀ ਦੀ ਜਾਗ ਲੱਗੀ। ਇੱਥੇ ਭਗਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਰਾਜਗੁਰੂ, ਸੁਖਦੇਵ , ਚੰਦਰ ਸ਼ੇਖਰ ਆਜ਼ਾਦ , ਬੀ. ਕੇ. ਦੱਤ ਅਤੇ ਧਨਵੰਤਰੀ ਦੇਸ਼ ਭਗਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲੇ। ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਨੌਜਵਾਨ ਭਾਰਤ ਸਭਾ ਦੀ ਸਥਾਪਨਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਅਤੇ " ਇੰਨਕਲਾਬ ਜਿੰਦਾਬਾਦ " ਦਾ ਨਾਅਰਾ ਲਾਇਆ। ਭਗਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਭਾਰਤ ਦੀ ਆਜ਼ਾਦੀ ਲਈ ਨੌਜਵਾਨ ਭਾਰਤ ਸਭਾ ਦੀ ਸਥਾਪਨਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਇਸ ਦਾ ਉਦੇਸ਼ ਸੇਵਾ, ਤਿਆਗ ਅਤੇ ਪੀੜ ਸਹਿ ਸਕਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਨੌਜਵਾਨ ਤਿਆਰ ਕਰਨਾ ਸੀ। ਭਗਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਤੇ ਉਸਦੇ ਸਾਥੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਲਾਲਾ ਲਜਪਤ ਰਾਏ ਦੀ ਮੌਤ ਦਾ ਬਦਲਾ ਲੈਣ ਲਈ ਸੌਂਹ ਖਾਦੀ , ਰਾਜਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਕੇ ਲਾਹੌਰ ਵਿੱਚ
ਸਹਾਇਕ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਮੁਖੀ ਰਹੇ ਅੰਗਰੇਜ਼ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀ ਜੇ ਪੀ ਸਾਂਡਰਸ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰਿਆ ਇਸ ਕਾਰਵਾਈ ਵਿੱਚ ਕ੍ਰਾਂਤੀਕਾਰੀ ਚੰਦਰ ਸ਼ੇਖਰ ਆਜ਼ਾਦ ਨੇ ਵੀ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਸੀ
ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਬੀ. ਕੇ ਦੱਤ ਦੀ ਮੱਦਦ ਨਾਲ ਅਸੈਂਬਲੀ ਹਾਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਦੋ ਧਮਾਕੇਦਾਰ ਬੰਬ ਸੁੱਟੇ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਬੰਬਾਂ ਦਾ ਮਤਲਬ ਕਿਸੇ ਦੀ ਜਾਨ ਲੈਣਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ ਸਗੋਂ ਗੂੰਗੀ ਤੇ ਬੋਲੀ ਅੰਗਰੇਜ਼ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਜਗਾਉਣਾ ਸੀ । ਇਸ ਦੇ ਲਈ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਗ੍ਰਿਫ਼ਤਾਰੀ ਦੇ ਦਿੱਤੀ। ਜੇਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਭਗਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਕਰੀਬ ਦੋ ਸਾਲ ਗੁਜਾਰੇ
ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਇਸ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਲਿਖੇ ਖਤ ਅੱਜ ਵੀ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਵਿਚਾਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਦਰਪਣ ਹਨ। ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਜੇਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਕ ਲੇਖ ਵੀ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਜਿਸਦਾ ਸਿਰਲੇਖ ਸੀ " ਮੈਂ ਨਾਸਤਿਕ ਕਿਉਂ ਹਾਂ "
23 ਮਾਰਚ 1931 ਨੂੰ ਭਗਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਦੋ ਸਾਥੀਆਂ ਰਾਜਗੁਰੂ ਅਤੇ ਸੁਖਦੇਵ ਨੂੰ ਫਾਂਸੀ ਦੇ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਗਈ।

Bhagat Singh received his primary education from the village school. After completing his matriculation from DAV School, Lahore, he entered the National College, Lahore for higher studies. He dropped out of school halfway through his studies and joined the country.
While studying in the National College, Bhagat Singh was awakened to true patriotism. Here Bhagat Singh Rajguru, Sukhdev, Chandra Shekhar Azad, b. By. Dutt and Dhanwantri met the patriots. He founded the Youth Bharat Sabha and raised the slogan "Inquilab Zindabad". Bhagat Singh founded the Youth Bharat Sabha for the independence of India with the aim of preparing young people who could serve, sacrifice and endure pain. Bhagat Singh and his associates take oath to avenge the death of Lala Lajpat Rai, together with Rajguru in Lahore
