Simranjit Singh Mann born on 20 May 1945 in Shimla, Himachal Pradesh. Simranjit Singh Mann studied at the Bishop Cotton School, Shimla. After that he studied at Government College, Chandigarh. Where he was a gold medalist in history.

It was Simranjit Singh Mann who formed the Shiromani Akali Dal Amritsar party. His father Joginder Singh Mann was the Speaker of the Punjab Vidhan Sabha in 1967. His wife Geetinder Kaur is the sister of former Punjab Chief Minister Capt. Amarinder Singh.
Simranjit Singh Mann has been arrested more than 30 times for his involvement in Punjab's affairs but no charges have been proved against him.
Simranjit Singh Mann joined the Indian Police Service in 1967. He continued his duty in different parts of Punjab. But when the Golden Temple was attacked in 1984, Simranjit Singh Mann resigned from the police force to protest. He spent five years in prison from 1984 to 1989. Simranjit Singh Mann contested the Lok Sabha elections in 1989 and won from Tarn Taran. He later won the Sangrur Lok Sabha seat in 1999.
Now in 2022 Simranjit Singh Mann is contesting from Amargarh constituency which falls within Malerkotla district of Punjab. Actor Deep Sidhu had also campaigned in his favor.

ਸਿਮਰਨਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਮਾਨ ਦਾ ਜਨਮ 20 ਮਈ 1945 ਈ: ਨੂੰ ਸ਼ਿਮਲਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ ਜੋ ਕਿ ਹਿਮਾਚਲ ਪ੍ਰਦੇਸ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੈ। ਸਿਮਰਨਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਮਾਨ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਪੜਾਈ ਸ਼ਿਮਲਾ ਦੇ ਬਿਸ਼ਪ ਕਾਟਨ ਸਕੂਲ ਤੋਂ ਕੀਤੀ। ਉਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਉਹ ਗੌਰਮਿੰਟ ਕਾਲਜ ਚੰਡੀਗੜ੍ਹ ਤੋਂ ਪੜੇ। ਜਿੱਥੇ ਉਹ ਇਤਿਹਾਸ ਵਿਸ਼ੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਗੋਲਡ ਮੈਡਲਿਸਟ ਸੀ।
ਸਿਮਰਨਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਮਾਨ ਨੇ ਹੀ ਸ੍ਰੋਮਣੀ ਅਕਾਲੀ ਦਲ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਸਰ ਪਾਰਟੀ ਬਣਾਈ । ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਜੀ ਜੋਗਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਮਾਨ 1967 ਵਿੱਚ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਵਿਧਾਨ ਸਭਾ ਦੇ ਸਪੀਕਰ ਸਨ। ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਪਤਨੀ ਗੀਤਿੰਦਰ ਕੌਰ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇ ਸਾਬਕਾ ਮੁੱਖ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਕੈਪਟਨ ਅਮਰਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਦੇ ਭੈਣ ਹਨ।
ਸਿਮਰਨਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਮਾਨ ਨੂੰ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇ ਮਸਲਿਆਂ ਲਈ 30 ਤੋਂ ਜ਼ਿਆਦਾ ਵਾਰ ਗਿਰਫ਼ਤਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਪਰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਤੇ ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਦੋਸ਼ ਸਾਬਿਤ ਨਾ ਹੋਇਆ।
ਸਿਮਰਨਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਮਾਨ 1967 ਵਿੱਚ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਸੇਵਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਏ ਉਹ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇ ਵੱਖ ਵੱਖ ਹਿੱਸਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਡਿਊਟੀ ਕਰਦੇ ਰਹੇ। ਪਰ ਜਦੋਂ 1984 ਵਿੱਚ ਹਰਿਮੰਦਰ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਤੇ ਹਮਲਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਉਸਦਾ ਵਿਰੋਧ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਸਿਮਰਨਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਮਾਨ ਨੇ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਨੌਕਰੀ ਤੋਂ ਅਸਤੀਫਾ ਦੇ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ 1984 ਤੋਂ 1989 ਤੱਕ ਪੰਜ ਸਾਲ ਜੇਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹਿਣਾ ਪਿਆ। ਸਿਮਰਨਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਮਾਨ ਨੇ 1989 ਵਿੱਚ ਲੋਕ ਸਭਾ ਇਲੈਕਸ਼ਨ ਲੜਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਤਰਨਤਾਰਨ ਤੋਂ ਜਿੱਤੇ ਉਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ 1999 ਵਿੱਚ ਸੰਗਰੂਰ ਲੋਕ ਸਭਾ ਸੀਟ ਤੋਂ ਜਿੱਤ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕੀਤੀ।
ਹੁਣ 2022 ਵਿੱਚ ਸਿਮਰਨਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਮਾਨ ਹਲਕਾ ਅਮਰਗੜ੍ਹ ਜੋ ਕਿ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇ ਮਾਲੇਰਕੋਟਲਾ ਜਿਲ੍ਹੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਆਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ , ਤੋਂ ਚੋਣ ਲੜ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ। ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਹੱਕ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਦਾਕਾਰ ਦੀਪ ਸਿੱਧੂ ਨੇ ਵੀ ਪ੍ਰਚਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ।
ਸਿਮਰਨਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਮਾਨ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇ ਹਿੱਤਾਂ ਲਈ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ ।
